Electronics & Embedded Engineer
The future of flights
Job Description:
Designing and building the electronic heart of NIDO – from PCB design to real-world drone control and robotic integration.
At our company, we’re looking for an experienced Electronics & Embedded Engineer to join the development team behind NIDO, our proprietary Drone-in-a-Box system for fully automated aerial missions.
The NIDO platform integrates advanced UAVs and robotic docking stations, enabling remote operation, autonomous deployment, and smart payload integration. You’ll contribute directly to the system’s embedded intelligence, power management, and sensor integration — transforming high-level concepts into robust field-ready technology.
If you’re passionate about embedded systems, robotics, and drones, this is your opportunity to work on a tangible, fast-growing innovation that blends electronics, automation, and AI.
Benefits include:
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Flexible hybrid work model (remote during non-hardware-intensive phases)
- Opportunity to work on a real product with high technological impact
- Dynamic, innovation-driven environment combining UAVs, robotics, and AI
- Rapid professional growth within a scaling company
Responsibilities:
- Design and test PCBs for embedded and power systems
- Program microcontrollers (e.g. ESP32) for real-time control and telemetry
- Integrate sensors, cameras, communication, and safety modules
- Handle BOM optimization, supplier scouting, and PCB outsourcing
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and avionics teams
- Support the transition from prototype to pre-series and industrial production
- Participate in field testing, validation, and debugging of drone and docking-station electronics
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability, safety, and performance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid experience in electronics design and debugging
- Strong skills in embedded programming (C/C++ preferred; ESP32 highly valued)
- Knowledge of communication protocols: UART, I²C, SPI, CAN
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad / Altium) and lab instrumentation
- Experience managing suppliers and sourcing components
- Understanding of power systems, battery management, and safety electronics
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving mindset
- Fluent in Italian, good English for documentation and collaboration
